Ogden, UT · Serving Weber, Davis & Box Elder Counties
Healthy landscapes, grounded in Utah.
Custom design, installation, and care built around the Wasatch Front's soil, water, and seasons — flexible, affordable, and made to fit your vision.
We believe a landscape should do the same thing a well-tended garden has always done: settle you. Every design starts with what's already true of a site — its slope, its light, its soil — and builds outward from there, so the result feels like it grew in rather than got installed.
What We Do
Services built around how you want to use your yard
DIY Design Guidance
Custom plans and step-by-step direction for homeowners who want to do the digging themselves — you bring the labor, we bring the plan.
Full-Service Design & Installation
Start to finish: design, sourcing, and installation for homes across the Wasatch Front, handled beginning to end.
Landscapes That Fit Your Budget
A design that matches your vision and your numbers — phased plans and honest scoping so nothing surprises you later.
Tree & Shrub Care
Expert pruning and maintenance timed to Utah's climate, protecting the investment already growing in your yard.
How We Work
A process with a real sequence, start to finish
Consultation
We walk the property together, talk through how you actually use the space, and set a budget that's honest from day one.
Design
A custom plan built for your site's soil, sun, and slope — not a template, and not more plant than your maintenance time can support.
Installation
Professional installation from grading to planting, sequenced so the yard is never left half-finished longer than it has to be.
Ongoing Care
Seasonal maintenance and pruning that keeps the landscape looking like it did the day it was finished.
Seasonal Tips
Care notes for the Wasatch Front's climate
Spring
Hold off on major pruning until after the last hard freeze, then clean up winter dieback and top-dress beds before new growth takes hold.
Summer
Deep, infrequent watering beats daily sprinkling in our dry heat — it pushes roots down instead of keeping them shallow and stressed.
Fall
This is prime planting season along the Wasatch Front — cooler air and warm soil let roots establish before winter dormancy.
Winter
Dormant pruning on trees and shrubs is easiest to see and gentlest on the plant — and it's the season to plan next year's beds.
About Botanical Zen
Plants and people are my passion.
From the orchids of the high Andes cloud forests in Peru to the gardens of Kyoto, Japan, plants have always fascinated me. I've loved vegetable gardening and playing in my grandpa's apple orchard in Utah since I was a little kid.
I've had the opportunity to work with top landscapers, fruit and vegetable researchers, floriculture companies, and flower breeders around the world. My experiences from my horticulture degree at Utah State University and my graduate degree in Plant and Environmental Science have completed the union of the science and art of plants.
“Now it's time to bring all my global experiences back to Utah and help you find the peace you're looking for from your garden.”
